European energy broker, specialising in physical and financial gas and power markets.
Due to the growth of our client’s Paris business, they are now seeking to hire junior brokers to cover key European LNG import and transit markets as well as EPEX, EEX spot/ futures.
You will be responsible for enabling transactions and providing advisory services to clients looking to sell or procure European gas and power. This is a more junior role, whereby training will be available. Knowledge of European LNG and Power markets via market analysis, credit risk, trading or operations experience is a strong advantage.
Responsibilities:

Monitor market trends, including European supply and demand, European regulatory developments, and geopolitical factors that affect these

Analyse market data including European gas benchmarks such as TTF or the European Power Benchmark for EU electricity prices

Build relationships with clients, understand their energy procurement needs and provide tailored advice to help them meet their targets.

Execute gas and power transactions on behalf of clients, ensuring that price objectives are met

Provide risk analysis, including market risk, credit risk, pricing risk and hedging associated with each energy trade

Develop an understanding of regulatory frameworks associated with the European energy spot and futures markets and clearing services. These include European Federation of Energy Traders (EFET) master agreements as well as exchange contracts.
Qualifications

Prior experience within market risk, credit risk, trading or broking within European gas and power markets (minimum 2 years in either of these disciplines is required)

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex market data and trends.
