Actuary

We are currently supporting the Belgian arm of one of Europe’s leading insurance and reinsurance groups with 2 new actuarial hires within their health business.

The successful candidates will sit within the wide financial risk team and be required to determine the premium for existing and new products, assessing their profitability and calculating both BGAAP and IFRS reserves. You will also contribute to IFRS 17 models.

Additional responsibilities will include the application of statistical methods and actuarial software packages to analyse claims and general portfolio composition in line with provisioning and Solvency II frameworks.

Skills Required

• Actuarial, mathematics or economic degree ideally to master’s level
• A minimum of 3 years actuarial or financial risk experience within the insurance sector
• Business proficiency in English (both written and oral) is essential. Additional proficiency in French or Dutch is advantageous
• Experience in actuarial and / or statistical software such as Prophet, ResQ or “R” is preferred
